Nina was born into a musical family in Reading, Massachusetts. She learned piano and harp at age 5, and later learned trumpet (age 8) and organ (age 15, at the Stoneham Seventh-day Adventist Church). She sang alto with her church choir growing up and with the Harvard University Choir while attending the Harvard Graduate School of Education.  Nina previously served as the organist at Trinity Episcopal Church in Elkridge, MD from 2002-2018 and at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Cambridge, MA from 2001-2002.

Nina is also a mathematics teacher and has taught in Massachusetts, Illinois, and Maryland, and currently teaches mathematics at Glenelg High School, where she has worked since 2007. Nina is the proud mother of Marianna, Caroline, and Tristan  (all musicians, too!) and wife of Thomas Feeney.
